and I am excited that you have taken the time out of your busy day to visit my blog. I am an all-American girl with a fun loving “free spirit” who thrives on spontaneity but recognizes the need for structure and boundaries in our lives. Schedules keep my daily life organized like everyone else but I also maintain flexibility enough to go off the beaten path to find the cool and out of the way places to enjoy.
It is so awesome to see our family happy, healthy, and well fed and still have a little extra money in our pocket to do something fun and exciting. These are things that most of us strive to achieve. I know I do.
In this topsy-turvy world that we live in today, People’s happiness and contentment seem to be diminishing. The values people once held near and dear to their hearts are being replaced by worldly ventures. The tried and true methods of generations past have been replaced with synthetic chemicals that are very harmful for our health and to our bodies. Biblical values that were once upheld are now becoming shadows as society turns to other beliefs.
We need to get back to what is important in life. We need to get back to God, back to healthy lifestyles and loving relationships. And back to family togetherness and wholesome fun.
I live what I write and have started this blog because I have been asked to put what I know into a book (by my little sister). Instead of a book, I have decided to build this blog using it as a canvas for all of the helpful tips that I have learned along the way. It will be bigger than a book: A living project to help inspire women, homemakers, parents, wives, and those who are trying to make ends meet.
Even though I am writing a blog about these things it doesn’t mean I have arrived at perfection, though. I am still learning and growing too.
This blog displays a love for all things wholesome and up-lifting. Here you can find what you need to help you through your day from heirloom recipes that promote clean eating to tips for thriving marriages, deepening relationships and raising Godly kids. Advice that has worked for me and those that I know, and prayerfully, will work for you and your family as well. I love to share wisdom passed down from bygone eras that have inspired me to be a better woman, wife, and mother.
As a born again Christian, Christ is at the center of everything that I do. In fact, this blog is only possible because of the transformative work of Christ in my life. I am passionate about my relationship with Christ and that passion is woven into my posts. I rely on the scriptures of the Bible to guide me in my daily life and I love to share this spiritual food with others. While clean eating is important to our health, scripture is living water for our souls.

Cooking and baking are also passions of mine. Food is important in the home, not only as nourishment but also for comfort. The fresher the better and all things should be homemade, not only to promote health, but also to help create an environment rich in love and laughter. In our modern era, time is a precious commodity and convenience foods with harmful ingredients are replacing wholesome, home-cooked meals. When we get back to eating the way God intended, we are much healthier. And it is important to feed our children healthy food and to eat healthy food ourselves so that we can be around to raise them.
Children are blessings from God and the future of our world. How we raise them will shape the people they become. It’s a serious undertaking and yet one of the most profound blessings we could ever experience. We need to raise them to be responsible citizens. We need to raise them on Godly principles showing them the way in which they are to go, guiding them in their daily decisions and dreams. Here you will find tips for parenting and for loving the moments in time that we get to share with our children.
Besides the serious stuff, traveling, going on adventures, HAVING FUN and finding out of the way places are my specialty. I’m always on the lookout for hidden treasures that other people miss. Not only do I love to spy out these incredible destinations but I take it a step further and travel as cheaply as I can.
I have made it my mission to find ways to thrive in frugality. It is hard to save money in this throw-away society that we live in and so, I am happy to share the successful tips and strategies that I have learned from saving money to saving time through efficiency in daily tasks. Let’s face it, money and time are always tight, but if you can save some of both by living more efficiently, wouldn’t you do it.
Here I will share inspiration and tips that I have gotten from my own Grandma and older ladies I know that are invaluable. Knowledge passed down through the ages is far more valuable than any “up to the minute” advice passed from magazine to magazine or trending on social media sites. And I try to find this inspiration and information in all kinds of places, but I often find it by just sitting and listening.
Through this I hope to help others to develop a loving home where family and loved ones flourish and guests are always welcome. A space to enjoy with those we hold dear. Home is where we go to be encouraged, supported and to rest. It is important to build upon and shape our homes in order for them to thrive.
Whether you are a stressed out mom, a loving wife, a homemaker wanting a new recipe, someone looking for extra ways to save money, or a woman with brokenness who is just looking for a friend—there is a place here for you.
